8 Days Discovering the Wonders of Jordan

Day 1: Arrive at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman

Upon your arrival at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, Jordan, our representative will be there to assist you with visa and customs procedures. Subsequently, your driver, holding a sign with your name, will meet you in the arrivals hall. They will transport you to your hotel in Amman. The afternoon is free for you to spend at leisure.

Day 2: Exploring the Historic Wonders of Amman and Jerash

Breakfast at your hotel, and meet your English-speaking guide in the lobby. Your day’s itinerary will see you exploring the city of Amman and its numerous attractions. Start with a visit to the Citadel, a panoramic spot with breathtaking views of the city. The Citadel is an archaeological site perched atop Jebel Al Qala’a in downtown Amman. It includes a 1700-meter wall dating back to the Bronze Age, the iconic Temple of Hercules, and the Umayyad Palace.

Next, proceed to the Roman Theatre located at the city’s center. This superbly restored theatre stands as the most remarkable and striking leftover from Roman Philadelphia and tends to be the main highlight of Amman for most international visitors. Carved into the northern side of a hill, the theatre can accommodate up to 6000 spectators.

Your journey continues with a drive to Jerash, home to the world’s best-preserved Roman provincial city. Jerash is nestled on a plain surrounded by rolling, forested hills and fertile basins. After falling to General Pompey in 63 BC, it was incorporated into the Roman Empire and became one of the ten significant Roman cities of the Decapolis League. After the tour, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for rest and relaxation.

Day 3: From Amman to Petra, Journeying through Madaba, Mt. Nebo, Karak, and Little Petra

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, meet your English-speaking driver in the lobby around 7:30 am, ready to embark on a day filled with exploration and adventure. Our journey begins by heading south to Petra, with several fascinating stops along the way. The first destination is the St. George Church in Madaba, where you’ll see the historic Madaba Map or Madaba Mosaic Map, an extraordinary part of an early Byzantine floor mosaic.

Following this, we travel to Mt. Nebo, the renowned site where Moses is believed to have viewed the Promised Land. Our itinerary then takes us along the King’s Highway to the city of Karak, also known as Al-Karak locally. Renowned for its key role during the Crusades, Karak’s main attraction is the majestic Karak Castle, one of the largest Crusader fortresses in the Levant. You’ll be given ample time to explore this intriguing historical site.

Depending on the day’s timing, we might incorporate a visit to Little Petra. If not, the journey will proceed directly to Petra. After a day of exploration, you will be transferred to your hotel in Petra for check-in and your overnight stay.

Day 4: Petra Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, you will meet your driver for a full-day tour of Petra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour begins at the Siq and leads you through a series of significant landmarks, including the Treasury, the Street of Facades, the Theater, and the Colonnaded Street.

Provided time permits, there’s also an opportunity to visit the Monastery and/or the High Place of Sacrifice. Although the climb to these sites is demanding, the exceptional views you’ll be rewarded with are well worth the effort.

After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure.

Day 5: Journey from Petra to Wadi Rum

After breakfast at your hotel. Once you’ve checked out, meet your driver who will transport you to your next destination: Wadi Rum. Your exploration begins at the Visitors Centre.

Here, you’ll embark on a captivating half-day jeep tour, offering an excellent way to discover numerous scenic sites nestled within Wadi Rum. The jeep will pause at each location, affording you the opportunity to explore, take photos, and even ascend some of the awe-inspiring natural bridges that contribute to Wadi Rum’s distinct landscape.

Following the jeep excursion, unwind with a savory dinner and immerse yourself in the unique experience of overnight camping in Wadi Rum.

Day 6: Transfer from Wadi Rum to Aqaba

After breakfast at your hotel, proceed to check out and meet your assigned driver for the day. You’ll then embark on a journey towards Aqaba, checking into your new hotel upon arrival.

The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy as you please. Immerse yourself in the beauty of Aqaba, known for its striking Red Sea coastline. The city is a haven for water activities such as snorkeling and diving, offering plenty of opportunities for marine exploration.

Alternatively, you can choose to unwind on the city’s stunning beach or engage in some cultural exploration at the local markets. After a day full of adventure or relaxation, according to your preference, return to your hotel in Aqaba for a peaceful overnight stay.

Day 7: Transfer from Aqaba to Dead Sea, Concluding in Amman

Once you’ve had breakfast at your hotel, prepare to check out and meet up with your driver. Your next destination is the iconic Dead Sea, the lowest point on the Earth’s surface. Delight in a full day’s access to this natural marvel.

Take the time to unwind and experience the unique sensation of floating in the sea’s hyper-saline waters. Don’t miss the opportunity to lather yourself with the renowned therapeutic mud, celebrated for its healing properties.

As the afternoon fades, you’ll be transferred back to Amman. After check-in at your hotel, enjoy a restful night in Jordan’s capital city.

Day 8: Departure from Amman – End of Tour Service

After breakfast, you will check out from your hotel in Amman (hotel check-out is before 12:00 noon) and will then be transferred to the Amman International Airport according to your flight details. This will be the end of our tour and services.
